No more spoons? Fork it.

The last few days I have been extremely tired.  Beyond sleepy, completely fatigued.  Yet nothing has slowed down, if anything it is picking up speed!  There comes days where I have so much to do and I don’t have any more spoons that I just have to say fork it and get it done.  In my head I know that I need rest, honest sleep, and major downtime... but I don’t have the lifestyle that will allow for that.  I have responsibilities at home and work that need me to actively complete my to-do list.  Yet when I have time to catch a nap, my brain keeps reminding me of everything else I need to do.

I used to have a nature CD of a thunderstorm that helped me rest when my mind wouldn’t slow down enough to allow me to sleep.  Here are a few more I am looking at purchasing:

I've used a sound machine that had rain, waves, rainforest, white noise, and other soothing sounds. I liked the rain and the waves; both helped me drift off.
I have sleep and fatigue issues too. I can fall asleep, but not stay asleep. Usually, I wake up after 2 hours or less. Fall asleep again. Wake up again.
I use creative visualization and drifting to at try and get my mind away from negative or worrying thoughts while trying to sleep.
Though, there are nights it is difficult to shut down the thinking. Then, I often get up and do stuff like research on the web, emails, etc. rather than lie there and think even if I am very tired.
Some folks use relaxation techniques to help focus the mind, and relax the body.
I hope you find the right CD for assisting you in shutting down your mind, and drifting off.

Thank you so much for sharing! I also struggle to remain asleep after about two hours of being asleep. Thank you for your suggestions, I will give them a try!

Thanks again,
Amber
